The place is originally devoted to US military veterans, hence its name. Now, it is family-friendly beachfront park. The beach is on the west side of Lake Jackson, a quaint freshwater lake which is about 25 feet deep. Also, there is a monument near the northwest section of the beachfront park. As said in the dedication, it is to remember “all men and women wounded in all our wars.”
